A Golden State Athletic Conference occurs as college athletics conference in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). A conference commissioner is Dr. Cliff Hamlow of Azusa Pacific University. Conference leadership is shared among a member institutions. A conference was formed around Autumn of 1986.
A conference is unique among collegial athletic conferences when its members come a lot Christian colleges located in Central and Southern California. It is a lot similar within enrollment, academics, athletics and student life.
Conference teams use at times won 20 national championships. Azusa Pacific won a 2004-2005 NAIA Director's Cup. Hope International University and San Diego Christian College joined the GSAC in the fall of 1999. A fresh member of the GSAC, The Master's College, joined in the autumn of 2001.
